Smoothies are a great way to enjoy your favourite fruits or have a snack in between meals or if you’re daring replace one of your meals. This recipe is tasty, quick and easy to make and if you have a sweet tooth, it’s definitely a healthier option to having that chocolate.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana (you can add more if you prefer)
- spoon of peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp honey
- 1tsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
- 1/3 cup of oats
- ice cubes
- 1/2cup milk
Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy 🙂 Chia seeds are agood source of fibre, loaded with antioxidants; they also have more iron than spinach; more potassium than banana and more calcium than milk. Maca powder (whose root its derived from is related to broccoli, kale and cauliflower – guess there’s no running away from vegetables 🙂 Maca powder benefits include – energy boost especially if you love working out; and apparently it helps with libido as well (we can neither confirm nor deny this one 🙂 Anyway it contains lots of vitamin C, iron and potassium. Chia seeds and maca powder can be bought at dischem or any health shop. Enjoy the smoothie.
