Today we&#8217;re using it in a smoothie. Why beetroot? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-foo\">Well,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>beetroot is highly nutritious and packed with essential vitamins and minerals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>beetroot is rich in folate (vitamin b9 and folacin), a vitamin that is important in the red blood cell formation and for healthy call growth + function. All B vitamins help the body convert carbs into fuel which is used by the body for energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>beetroot increases exercise performance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>beetroot is rich in potassium (aids in lowering blood pressure), iron (necessary for the transportation of oxygen in red blood cells) and vitamin c (an antioxidant vital for immune function and skin health)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-8832s\">Ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ice cubes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>frozen beetroot (cooked) (1\/2 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>plain yoghurt (1\/2 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>milk (1 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>blueberries (2 tablespoons)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional &#8211; honey if you prefer to have it sweet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-d48uq\">See video for more details.
